The MIR-98 combines the qualities of a non-contact infrared thermometer for
rapid surface temperature measurement with a high-accuracy penetration probe
for internal core temperature readings. This dual-function thermometer is ideal
for applications requiring both surface scanning and internal checks, such as
food safety inspections and HVAC diagnostics. The large, easy-to-read 30mm
LCD display simultaneously shows both infrared and probe temperatures,
allowing for efficient side-by-side monitoring.
The robust stainless steel probe is designed for versatility and practicality,
folding neatly into the body of the unit when not in use. It can be adjusted
through a full 180° and locks securely at 45°, 90°, 135°, and 180° positions,
making it easy to access hard-to-reach areas or take readings at precise angles.
The infrared function features an ultra-fast response time of less than 500
milliseconds and a fixed 1:1 distance-to-spot ratio, ideal for close-range surface
measurement. The adjustable emissivity (from 0.10 to 1.00) allows for accurate
readings across various surface types, from shiny metals to dull, textured
materials.
Built with user-friendly features such as data hold, Min/Max recording, infrared
lock, and low battery indication, the MIR-98 is well-suited for demanding
professional use. It also includes an automatic power-off function after 20
minutes of inactivity to preserve battery life.
